Charli is perfection. Pure perfection.

She was full of smiles & such a laid back baby.  How priceless is that picture of Charli & here mom (last picture) when her mom kissed her, she smiled.   A beautiful moment that they will cherish forever.  Mom & dad pictures at the end of a session produce some of our favorite images as they interact with their baby – many tears shed during this time.  I love it.

Spring came early this year, so Ashley literally stopped along the road on her way to the studio and cut off some blooming branches off trees – thank you, Ashley!  It was fun adding those into a few shots.

Libby & Ashley

Life has been crazy around here and by crazy I mean it has been crazy good.  After years of working in my home studio, I have moved into a GORGEOUS studio in Asheville.  I could not have picked out a better place to move to – I feel like it was designed just for Libby Brady Photography.

Not only have I moved, but I have also added Ashley Dickerson to my team.  She has been helping with newborn shoots for almost 2 years and I realized that I cannot do without her in the studio.  Our chemistry in the studio is perfection & the newborn art that we are able to produce together is breathtaking. (at least this is what my clients are telling me.)

We decided since we have so many exciting things happening… it’s a simply perfect reason for a party.  So, on

May 3 10am – 7pm

we are going to have a Grand Opening Party at our new studio.  It will be a great opportunity for everyone to see our new “home” & win some fabulous prizes while you are at it… not to mention the cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, cookies & punch you will get to snack on.  It’s going to be fun, so mark it on your calendars – we will be there all day to show you around.

What a gift for these parents, Noelle {super cute Christmas name} arrived just a few days before Christmas.  She is dainty & just as girly as they come.  Absolutely LOVE when they give us a smile in the studio [well, they almost always do.. but we don't always catch it with the camera] – can’t even tell you what I would give to go back and have newborn pictures done of my children.  If you have a newborn on the way soon, book a session, I can send you many referrals of parents who already treasure their pictures more than they would have ever imagined.  The teeny, tiny newborn days go so fast – unbelievably fast, let us help you capture those first few days for you!

Ok, so anyone that knows me KNOWS that I get starstruck.  I think famous people are.. well… famous.  If they are nearby, I want to see them, meet them, take pictures, etc….   I am one of those people.  I just can’t help it.  How does this relate to Solomon?  Well, to me & my family, this little guy & his family ARE famous!  Typically, at the end of a session I chat with my clients and find out a little bit about them – when I asked Solomon’s mom & dad what they did in Asheville.. I got starstruck.  Peter pulled out a business card and told me that he & Jen, his wife owned a company called ENO [Eagle's Nest Outfitters, Inc.] Well, if you love the outdoors & love hiking then you will definitely know all about this company.  They make the BEST hammock’s ever known & my family is a BIG fan.  I got so excited & I am sure started stammering around trying not to show how excited I was [guess they know now].  Ok, so I had to brag..  my most famous session.  Needless to say, my children had an amazing ENO Christmas.  Solomon, you are charming & adorable & you know the Eensy Weesny Spider better than anyone I know!  Peter & Jen, it was a true pleasure meeting you both & can’t wait to work with you again & possibly get a little newborn ENO hammock made (for this prop here)….p.s. – can I have your autograph? : )

I love it when mommy’s book their session way in advance… some we book 8 months before their born and then some after they are born.  Charlie’s mom booked his session month’s in advance & when I get close to the due date, I start getting excited that my new little client will be arriving soon.  This little guy was born weighing 9lb 6oz.  & nothing but pure sweetness.  I {adore} when they come in with some little rolls already forming on their bellies, it makes the cutest pictures.  Charlie smiled all through his session & we got to capture a few [smile picture above].   Huge props to my fabulous assistant, Ashley(she is the best).

Little Blakely Willa came in sleepy & must have been having some wonderful dreams, because she stayed sleeping through all kinds of prop changes.  We got to use the hammock prop [my new favorite] – check it out [above] – she looks pretty cozy, huh?    She fits so perfectly into her daddy’s hands & how priceless to have this shot, they don’t stay this tiny long & I know they will value these portraits forever.

Sweet baby, Ryleigh. Looks like a princess in her little tutu! Isn’t she just a doll? Such a precious family. I have known Ryleigh’s mommy, Alyssa, since she was a little girl. Ryleigh also has two adorable cousins, Lexi and Lola, that I will be posting a blog about soon. I absolutely love working with this family. Time goes by so quickly & I am blessed to be a small part of capturing these precious moments, that will soon become sweet, sweet memories.

I’m looking forward to seeing little Ryleigh grow. Alyssa and James, you are a wonderful parents, and your baby girl is so lucky to have you.

This newborn is angelic.  His session is one of those that pulls a little extra on my heartstrings.  He came to his family through adoption… which is part of my life & anytime a family is touched by adoption it makes me smile.  This little guy slept through his session & let us use all kinds of hats & props.. so much fun.  Hard to believe these were taken in September [I am beyond behind in my blogging] – bet he’s already had his first haircut.  As always, thank you to my amazing assistant, Ashley.. couldn’t do it without her!

The Brady family needs your help.  Cierra needs your help.  God has put an amazing 13 year old into our lives.  She is  beautiful.  She is wonderful.  She needs love.  Behind those beautiful brown eyes is a girl who has been through more than any 13 year old should have to go through.  She needs to know she has a bright future & she needs hope.  Our family will go to court on Monday to have her placed into our home & we could not be more excited.nervous.blessed.  The reality is if she doesn’t come here she will be in the Juvenile Detention center during Christmas and the Holiday’s and beyond.  A season that should be filled with hope & cheer could be very traumatic for Cierra.  We need support.  How do we need support?  1. Prayer.  We desperately need prayer for strength & wisdom with her.  2.  Money.  We need money to finish off a bedroom & bathroom for her.  Plain & simple – if we don’t, she can’t come.  It is going to cost over $10,000 to complete & we have committed to it.  We know God is going to provide every dime.  If you are interested in being a part of helping us help her, please let us know.  If you know of someone that can help, please share this with them & share this on your facebook page.  Please pray as time is critical.  Thank you.

My daddy. My hero. Come home soon.

Every session to me is special & every time I have a newborn session, I say this one is my favorite.  However, the next baby comes along and that session is my new favorite.  So, it is hard for me to pick a favorite session out of all that I have done, but there are a couple of things that I am more than passionate about – adoption & the USA.  The studio is so much more emotionally charged when there is a baby that has been adopted or a parent that is serving our country.

So , needless to say, there were tears in the studio on this day.  Jocelyn’s daddy serving the USA in the Army was able to come home from Afghanistan for the birth of his baby girl.  We were able to squeeze time in a couple of days before he had to return, where he is now fighting for our freedom.

Another hero to me is the mommy’s who are staying behind to care for their children so their husbands can serve.  Jocelyn’s mommy is brave & strong.  I admire her for her selflessness & being a single parent waiting for her man to return.
