{My girl}

Today is a day filled with celebration and thankfulness for our little Guatemalan princess who is growing up way too fast.  I am always filled with mixed emotions on her birthday.  Today I wonder about her birthmom  – is she thinking about her little baby today?  Is she wondering about all of the things I get to see everyday – how tall is she?  is her hair long? is she tall or petite? does she have dimples? is she quiet or outgoing? does she have my smile? does she have my eyes? what color are her finger & toe nails today? what is her favorite thing to wear?  does she sleep with a favorite stuffed animal? does she wonder about me? is she happy? is she loved? does she skip when she walks? what does her voice sound like? what does she want to be when she grows up? will I meet her one day?

See how I can be happy & sad all at the same time?  So happy that I know all these answers about Sage, so sad that I can’t talk to her birthmom and answer all those questions for her today.  Until we meet, Dominga, I thank you for your selfless gift to us & I will keep all of these answers in my heart to share with you one day.  God Bless you.

Happy 8th Birthday our beautiful princess!

{2009}

Ok, so this is definitely an image overload post! We have had the most incredible break over the last 3 weeks. My husband and I both took off a few weeks and we literally spent the entire time together as a family. While we were relieved to get back to a normal routine yesterday, it was also bittersweet to see our crazy time come to an end. I fell in love all over again with my husband and kids and feel so blessed to have each of them in my life & to have them love me back.

One of my Christmas presents I asked for was a “FUN” photo shoot with my kids.. so I have to say they came through for me and we had alot of fun in the studio over the break. As I worked on these, I wonder where time went and when did my toddlers become so grown up! It seems like yesterday they were running around the house in their footed p.j.’s (ok, Sage still wears hers!) and carrying around sippy cups. Time definitely goes too fast! Thank you, Sullivan Joseph, Sawyer Jacob, Sutton Jonah & Sage Juliet for making these photos something I will always cherish- I love you all! Thanks to Tim, too for wearing a tutu on your head to help make the kids smile :-) (should have gotten a picture of that!)

I am looking forward to 2009 and capturing so many of your families. I know how priceless these images are and I want to make your studio experience something that you will not soon forget. If it has been a year since you have had a family portrait or 6 months since you have had your children’s/teens photos taken, I urge you to get it on the calendar! The little baby faces & baby teeth(Sage lost her top baby tooth a couple of days after we did the pictures above & looks sooo different) are something you don’t want to forget!
